Privacy Policy

Last updated · 2026-05-29

This Privacy Policy explains what information Ease collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what control you have over it. It applies to everyone who uses Ease (the “Service”) regardless of where you live.

Ease is operated from the Netherlands. If you have any questions, reach us at support@meet-ease.com.

1. What we collect

We only store what is needed to make Ease work for you. Specifically:

  • Account. Email address and a salted+hashed password (we never see your password in clear text — Supabase Auth handles this).
  • Profile. Display name, companion name, identity language preference, theme, and onboarding state.
  • Routines & tasks. Titles, steps, schedule times, completion dates, and your per-item reminder settings.
  • Mood logs. Daily mood (1–5), energy (1–3), and any short note you choose to add. This is sensitive data and we treat it accordingly.
  • Chat history. Messages you send to your companion and the companion's replies. Used to maintain conversation context.
  • Companion memory. Short facts the AI saves about you when relevant (for example: “goes to bed at 22:00”). Viewable and deletable from your Profile screen.
  • Push subscriptions. Per-device tokens issued by your browser's push service, so we can deliver the reminders you enabled.
  • Notification settings. Your master toggle, mood check-in time, and welcome-back preferences.
  • Activity timestamps. When you last sent a message, completed a routine, etc. Used for streak counting and the welcome-back reminder.

We do not collect: precise location, IP-based profiling, device fingerprints, analytics, contacts, photos, biometric data, or browsing history outside Ease.

2. How we use it

  • To run the service — show your dashboard, save your check-ins, deliver your reminders.
  • To personalize the AI's responses by including your profile, memory, and recent mood patterns in each prompt to the model.
  • To improve Ease — anonymous, aggregate signals only (for example: how often a feature is used). We never train AI models on your individual data.
  • To prevent abuse and protect the service (rate limiting, deduplication).

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. Ever.

3. Who we share it with (sub-processors)

To operate the service we rely on a small number of trusted vendors. Each has signed appropriate data-processing agreements.

Where data is transferred outside the EEA, transfers happen under Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.

4. How long we keep it

We keep your data as long as your account is active.

  • Chat messages are pruned past the most recent 30 per conversation for AI context, but stored in full for your own history.
  • Notification dedup keys are housekept after 30 days.
  • Account deletion: email us at support@meet-ease.com from the address on your account. We delete your data within 30 days.

5. Your rights

Wherever you live, you may:

  • Access — request a copy of your data.
  • Correct — ask us to update anything inaccurate.
  • Delete — close your account and have your data removed.
  • Export — receive a machine-readable export of your data.
  • Restrict or object — limit how we process your data.
  • Withdraw consent — turn off notifications, revoke push permission, deselect memory items.

If you are in the EU/EEA, the GDPR applies. You can also lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (in the Netherlands: Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

If you are in California, the CCPA / CPRA apply. You have the same rights above plus the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information — though we don't sell or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of. You may also designate an authorized agent. We do not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

To exercise any right, email us at support@meet-ease.com.

6. Cookies

Ease uses only the cookies required for authentication. Specifically, the Supabase session cookie that keeps you logged in. We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies.

7. Security

All traffic is encrypted with HTTPS. Your data sits in Postgres with Row-Level Security, meaning a query can only return rows that belong to the authenticated user. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Service-role credentials are never exposed to the browser. No system is perfectly secure — if you discover a vulnerability, please email us responsibly at support@meet-ease.com.

8. Children

Ease is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children under that age. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make a material change we will update the date at the top and notify active users via email or an in-app message. Continued use after such notice means you accept the updated policy.
